FAQ

Where is the database/log stored, and can I use NFS storage to keep data safe?

The database/log is stored in the /usr/local/var/lib/trisul-hub/domain0/hub0/context0/meters directory. You have subdirectories (called Pools) like oper/, ref/, and archive/ that can be mounted on different volumes, including NFS storage, allowing you to retain up to 2 years worth of data in a safe RAID storage. See Configure Retention Policy | Trisul Network Analytics Docs

Can I recover old data by mounting the NFS storage to a new installation in case of a server failure?

Yes, that's the right approach! You can take the archive subdirectory under meters and mount it on NFS. If the server fails, you can simply mount it on another server and recover the old data.

Can I configure the retention time of IPDR logs?

Yes, using the Hub Configuration file, you can set up how many days are stored in each pool. Older data is automatically rolled out, eliminating manual intervention. This way, you can configure retention time for IPDR logs (example, 3 months or 6 months).

Can I enrich the data with usernames from our RADIUS server?

Yes, you can dump the RADIUS logs to a directory and set up the trisul_aaaing tool to ingest the logs. This allows you to enrich the data with usernames from your RADIUS server. If needed, you can arrange to FTP the RADIUS logs to the directory, and we can assist you in setting it up. See AAA and RADIUS | Trisul Network Analytics Docs
